Taiwanese artist Lan Chung-Hsuan focuses on the structural violence of war and politics, often dismantling such systems through playful gestures. In Target Sheet's Flying Time, he isolates the act of “shooting” as the most fundamental unit of warfare.

Using actual target sheets from Taiwanese military training, he folds them into paper airplanes and sets them flying. With a simple flick of the hand, these paper planes imitate the trajectory of bullets as they glide silently through the air.

In the moment when a deadly tool of violence is transformed into a childlike object of play, the meaning of war is momentarily disarmed.
