Li Hongbo explores the human condition through symbolic sculptural language. Drawing upon familiar forms and everyday imagery, he reflects on individual lives and our shared destiny, raising questions about human existence where reality and symbolism intersect.

Stage takes its point of departure from Shakespeare's famous line, “All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players.” Within the theatre of life, each person performs a different role, yet the more deeply we become absorbed in those roles, the more easily we lose sight of our true selves. Through cold, solid metal sculptures, Li transforms the invisible stage of life into tangible form. The work blurs the boundary between stage and reality, presenting life itself as an endless performance in which everyone takes part.
