Moon Su-jin

Moon Seo-jin's works, such as the performance Living Island (2020), where she stacks snow on a frozen lake every day, and The Largest Circle I've Drawn (2016), where she uses her body as a compass to draw a large circle, showcase her unique approach to engaging with the world through the body. The artist's performances, which begin with minimal planning, such as "stacking snow with a shovel" or "drawing a circle with the body," are filled with new sensations discovered in the midst of uncertainty. The various reflections on the "anxiety that the ground might collapse," "the fear of latent death," "the awe of nature," and "the comfort found in someone's support" that the artist experienced while moving across the frozen lake are awakened in the viewer's direct sensory experience through the works placed in the exhibition, prompting reflection on the present moment.
